Camping at Crescent

We had a very good and relaxing weekend at, Crescent lake. We did miss the fire works this year and had to settle with electronic sparklers, as there were no fire works allowed at camp. We picked up some fun little light up toys at the crescent store and Dave and I, I mean the kids had a lot of fun with them. Another thing we picked up at the store is, mesquito repelant. The mesquitos were sooo bad there and I have the bites to prove it. Refer to picture. The kids looked liked they had measles from head to toe. The only relief we had from them was out on the lake. Imagine the dissapointment from Dave. We did catch two kokani, and had them for dinner the first night. Dave had a huge brown on the line and David tried very hard to get it in the boat but the fish cut the line and broke free. Dave didn't have the heart to take the net away from David and do it himself. If he had they probably would have caught him. Dave is such a good Daddy! I wish I knew how to download the video that i have of the boat ride and of Simon Swimming. I will have to play with that later. Speaking of Simon swimming, He absolutely loves the water. The water wasn't exactly warm, it was frezzing. He floated around on his floaty in the lake for a long time. I wish I had a picture to show you, like I said it's on video. The kids had fun roasting marshmellows and riding bikes. David ecpesially loved the fire. We called him "fire boy". He would collect fire wood for hours and then kick the fire and throw pine cones in and whatever else he could find. He would have loved nothing more than a constant fire all weekend. We lost many marshmellow sticks to the fire. I had to find a new one every evening. Boy, I tell you, we were really roughin it! The motor home has electricity, heat and air conditioning. The days were pretty warm but at night it got a little cold, so the heater was nice. I had freshly brewed coffee every morining except, Sunday. The generator stopped working and that meant no electricity. We were camping in a site that didn't have hook ups. I have been so spoiled with the motor home, I didn't bother to pack any instant coffee. I will next time. I was amazed how much easier it was to camp with the kids this year. They are growing up so fast and this year really reminded me of that.
